OMG ZANOLETTI IS BORN
Founded by Attilio Zanoletti, OMG ZANOLETTI was conceived as an outsourcer for machining. Exploiting the experience gained in a number of major mechanical companies and driven by the ambition to "do something of his own", Zanoletti decides to build a prestigious superior quality tool machine.
The lucky encounter with an engineer with extensive experience in the construction of that type of machine, leads to the choice of designing a lathe. This leads to the production in 1968 of the first OMG Parallel Lathe which soon imposed itself on the market thanks to the exceptionally high quality of the product and for the innovation of the instantaneous change in rotation speed of the spindle.
The OMG ZANOLETTI lathe earns immediate success on the Italian and foreign markets for its quality, precision and reliability features. The robust sizing, the use of exceptionally high quality components, the exclusive use of Italian cast iron and the in-house production of all the parts with the utmost accuracy, allows OMG Zanoletti to produce up to 120 manual lathes every year.

INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRONICS
Not resting on its laurels, and always maintaining a careful eye on technological developments, after a short period of construction of hydraulic machines, OMG Zanoletti launches the new range of inclined bench CNC lathes for customers with large batch production demands.
DRIVE TOWARDS INNOVATION
Research in the numerical control machine sector continues. These years saw the introduction of its customer support activity aimed at the development of special applications for the standard machines in order to solve specific problems and demands of end users.
THE FIRST SELF-LEARNING LATHE IS BORN
Always attentive to market demands, OMG Zanoletti starts production of the new range of self-learning plain bench lathes to meet the demands of customers who do not have high production volumes, but need high precision, rapid programming and repeatability. Thanks to an easy programmable CNC, even inexperienced operators can perform automatic operations by inserting a limited amount of information starting from predefined macros. The positioning of the turret on the operator side makes this type of machine more familiar and easy to use, even for operators accustomed to using parallel manual lathes.
LARGE INVESTMENTS TO GROW
The new assembly department is built bringing the covered facility area to a total of 3,000 sqm.
T A new TANGENTIAL GRINDING machine is purchased for the processing of benches with up to 5000 mm point intervals.
The new series of self-learning horizontal bench lathe model CNV specifically designed for the processing of valve bodies is launched.
CUSTOMISATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT
The success of the self-learning plain bench lathes encourages OMG Zanoletti to concentrate on the production of this type of machine, developing highly technological and increasingly customised solutions.
NEW PRODUCTS FOR HEAVY DUTY TURNING
OMG ZANOLETTI enters the heavy duty turning world with the presentation at EMO in 2009 of the new 4-guide lathe, with 10 m point intervals and a 30 ton capacity.
OMG Zanoletti acquires an iconic brand in the European medium/heavy duty tool machine sector: PBR Perico Baroni Raimondi founded in 1946. Thanks to this acquisition, OMG ZANOLETTI strengthens its presence in the heavy duty turning sector and starts continuous investments aimed at expanding its range of products in the turning market, whereby today it is able to offer a complete and technologically advanced range in the horizontal turning sector, totally unique at a European level, with lathes ranging from 270 mm to 1000mm of point heights and point intervals of from 1.5m up to 30m.
Many important projects have been completed over the years in the medium-heavy duty sector for primary Italian and foreign companies, with highly technological solutions.

MEASURING ARM FINAL TESTING AND INSPECTION
In order to provide even higher quality services to its customers and to optimise production times, OMG Zanoletti has purchased a new automated warehouse for the management of replacement parts as well as semi-finished products for the production of new machines
