OMG ZANOLETTI IS BORN

Founded by Attilio Zanoletti, OMG ZANOLETTI was conceived as an outsourcer for machining. Exploiting the experience gained in a number of major mechanical companies and driven by the ambition to "do something of his own", Zanoletti decides to build a prestigious superior quality tool machine.
The lucky encounter with an engineer with extensive experience in the construction of that type of machine, leads to the choice of designing a lathe. This leads to the production in 1968 of the first OMG Parallel Lathe which soon imposed itself on the market thanks to the exceptionally high quality of the product and for the innovation of the instantaneous change in rotation speed of the spindle.

RAPID SUCCESS

The OMG ZANOLETTI lathe earns immediate success on the Italian and foreign markets for its quality, precision and reliability features. The robust sizing, the use of exceptionally high quality components, the exclusive use of Italian cast iron and the in-house production of all the parts with the utmost accuracy, allows OMG Zanoletti to produce up to 120 manual lathes every year.

INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRONICS

Not resting on its laurels, and always maintaining a careful eye on technological developments, after a short period of construction of hydraulic machines, OMG Zanoletti launches the new range of inclined bench CNC lathes for customers with large batch production demands.

DRIVE TOWARDS INNOVATION

Research in the numerical control machine sector continues. These years saw the introduction of its customer support activity aimed at the development of special applications for the standard machines in order to solve specific problems and demands of end users.

1994

THE FIRST SELF-LEARNING LATHE IS BORN

Always attentive to market demands, OMG Zanoletti starts production of the new range of self-learning plain bench lathes to meet the demands of customers who do not have high production volumes, but need high precision, rapid programming and repeatability. Thanks to an easy programmable CNC, even inexperienced operators can perform automatic operations by inserting a limited amount of information starting from predefined macros. The positioning of the turret on the operator side makes this type of machine more familiar and easy to use, even for operators accustomed to using parallel manual lathes.
